Senegal’s Differentiated Service Delivery Model for Maternal and Child Health – impact report

Senegal’s Differentiated Service Delivery (DSD) Model for Maternal and Child Health.

It represents a shift toward people-centered care by adapting services to the real needs and contexts of communities, particularly in hard-to-reach areas.
This approach responds to persistent access gaps by decentralizing care, strengthening the role of community health workers, and tailoring service delivery to local realities.
Here, we explore the context and objectives, the methodology underpinning the model, pilot results and early impact, as well as future perspectives and key recommendations for scaling up to ensure sustainable, equitable, and high-quality maternal and child health services across Senegal.
