ARC played a critical role in improving medicine availability in South Africa through supply chain planning. We partnered with the NDoH to develop the Strategy for Improved Medicine Access (SIMA) and an operating model with the AMD to predict, avoid and respond to stock shortages more efficiently. The result was a future-state VAN operating model, which improved supplier management and communication, coordinated the supply chain between the national and provincial levels, and effectively aligned partner investments through better governance. ARC's work in South Africa also served as advocacy material for other countries
