ENABLING PUBLIC HEALTH SUPPLY CHAIN TRANSFORMATION IN BURKINA FASO SINCE 2018
ARC’S WORK AND OUTCOMES IN BURKINA FASO
Africa Resource Centre (ARC) aims to strengthen Burkina Faso’s public health supply chain systems by providing strategic advisory for improved governance and implementation of supply chain policies and strategies.
ARC’s primary focus on strengthening the national supply chain strategy, improving the availability and accessibility of essential medicines through supporting last mile deliveries initiatives, enhancing maternal and child health services and Family planning. The overarching strategy aimed at improving Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and supporting national health policies.
ARC is also supporting the country in conceptualizing and implementing catalytic projects such as Differentiated service delivery in Family planning, feasibility study of medicines deliveries with medical drones, supporting studies analysing the Supply Chain (SC) inefficiencies, the mapping of SC Partners and supporting some operational activities. These initiatives are in line with ARC aim to provide expertise to explore the design of last mile distribution models that fit the local context and is capable to apply tools and approaches allowing visibility up to the pick-up point. These solutions proposals will generate useful and quality data for analysis and decision-making.
